Quality Manager

Direct-hire position. This position is responsible for planning and managing all Quality assurance compliance activities. As such, the incumbent assures review of new designs for manufacturing quality adherence, and that required processes, procedures, and quality hold points are relayed to the shop floor through clipboard requirements and/or quality plans. The incumbent must ensure that proactive roles are being taken in the areas of Manufacturing, Engineering, Materials, customer interface, and field issues (warranty reduction) to assure that company quality objectives are obtained. The incumbent must take the lead role in Continuous Improvement Initiatives through review of the company's past quality performance and the setting and measuring of determined goals. The incumbent is also responsible for special record requirement coordination, and customer relations on all special contract requirements including the coordination of customer in process and final inspections. Other responsibilities include ISO and CE implementation and maintenance. Coordinate the Plant's Quality activities across all functions, including liaison with end customers. Promote Total Quality concepts to affect an ongoing proactive quality improvement culture. Oversee the review of drawings on new or revised designs for manufacturing production and makes suggestions to Engineering on necessary changes to reduce cost and assures consistent quality. Defines quality plans including gauging and inspection procedures as required. Coordinate and direct the efforts and activities of Quality Assurance Engineers to ensure support to the shop floor and related suppliers, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of productivity and quality while reducing costs of operations for assigned processes. Assure that compliance with established quality standards by all internal operating functions and external suppliers is attained. Assist the Product Sales Department in the pre-quotation review of customer quality specifications to assure that any special requirements can be met and that adequate cycle time and cost is reflected. The Manager, Quality has an overall responsibility for developing, communicating, measuring and enforcing the facility Quality Policy through the establishment and monitoring of consistent work processes that fully meet internal and external quality requirements. The incumbent is responsible for determining the frequency and detail of in-process quality audits so as to maintain cost effective processes and products that meet customer expectations and specifications. Establishes quality processes and procedures and publishes required internal and external quality documentation. This position is responsible, in coordination with Purchasing, for establishing vendor qualifications, and interfacing with such vendors to assure a clear understanding of and full compliance with required quality standards, Responsible for assuring that contract quality procedures and documentation requirements are met. This includes responsibility for assisting the Product Sales Department in reviewing customer quality specifications and attending. customer meetings to achieve agreement on specific quality requirements. In this effort, consideration shall include design and production capabilities as well as schedule and cost impacts. Salary up to low $50K.
Quality Engineer

Contract-hire position. (2) positions. The incumbent is the technical expert on quality issues in his/her area as it relates to the total organization. The individual will interface with suppliers supporting these processes related to material, manufacturing and engineering activities to support cost, quality and cycle objectives. Interpret Design Engineering data (including blueprints, Bills of Material, IL- Specs) and special customer requirements. Define special manufacturing processes that may be required on a contract basis and communicate them on contract specific clip boards, manufacturing specifications and/or quality plans. Research and document quality improvements, cost-effective methods and process improvements. Provide daily technical support to the total organization through the disposition of Quality Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) and solving of shop floor problems with the primary focus on identification of root causes and correction of the process. Investigate and implement special project assignments involving productivity and quality improvements relating to his/her specific areas. Aid in the training of shop personnel where the operation of new equipment or new manufacturing procedure is concerned. Salary $25/hr.
Manufacturing Engineer

 

Direct-hire position. Candidate with 15+ years of experience. Any electronics, transducer and/or pressure enforced background would be ideal. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, equipment, and materials. Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Confers with engineering design staff concerning product design, tooling, materials and equipment to ensure efficient production methods. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies statistical methods to estimate potential future manufacturing requirements. Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reduced waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocation of work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment. Salary up to $65-75K.
Manufacturing Engineer

 

Contract-hire position. Ideal candidate will have experience in Six Sigma/Lean Proficient Manufacturing Manager. MUST be hands on, like working on the shop floor, and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean principles. (Show where they have used it, etc.) They are especially interested in someone who can also show them examples of an Engineered Product and how they have produced savings through their efforts. Salary up to $72K.
Manufacturing Engineer

 

Direct-hire position. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, the incumbent is concerned with all areas of manufacturing and with particular emphasis on computer aided manufacturing. Mid-to-long range process and methods improvements are accomplished through the investigation and implementation of appropriate manufacturing concepts. In addition, daily production issues are addressed in terms of shop floor support, systems programming issues, and the support of the production schedule. All efforts are focused on the successful implementation of projects, which will reduce labor and material costs while optimizing quality and cycle times. Salary up to $85K.
